Katherine Boecher

PARTNER

Born in Beaumont, Texas, and raised in Kansas, Katherine Boecher, (also known as “Pippi”), began her career as a model at age 14, signing with the exclusive FORD modeling agency in New York.  By 18, she was walking the runways as an international model and living abroad, appearing in publications such as Italian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle, among others. However, her heart was drawn to acting, and she soon moved to Los Angeles, making her feature film acting debut in Shonda Rhimes’ Crossroads.  She went on to star opposite Jackie Chan in Lionsgate's comedy The Spy Next Door, was featured in Michael Bay’s action film Bad Boys 2, and had a memorable role in the Official Sundance Festival Selection The Last Word (starring Winona Ryder and Ray Romano). Katherine has also guest starred on Emmy award-winning shows like Mad Men and The Closer, CSI: NY, Perception (TNT), Supernatural (CW), and most recently, she guest starred on Lucifer and Jane the Virgin.

Katherine co-founded Sterling Light Productions with her husband Lukas Behnken in 2012 as a vehicle to explore more of her creative talents, especially her love for storytelling in all its facets. As vice president of the company, Katherine thrives on overseeing productions and engaging new talent.  The company's first feature production, Mully (2015), was an award-winning documentary depicting the extraordinary rags-to-riches success story of Charles Mully, chronicling his work with disadvantaged youth in Kenya.  The story was so inspiring to Katherine and her husband that they became passionate about helping orphaned children, and along with their two biological children, they have a foster son and hope to one day adopt more children.
